Do Dham Yatra Package with Tungnath Chopta From Mumbai
Mumbai to the Higher Reaches of Uttarakhand
The Do Dham Yatra with Tungnath Chopta Group Tour Package From Mumbai takes travellers from Maharashtra towards the Garhwal Himalayas, covering Kedarnath and Badrinath along with the mountain destinations of Chopta and Tungnath.
The journey connects Mumbai with Delhi before continuing towards Uttarakhand. After reaching Haridwar and Rishikesh, the route gradually leaves the plains behind and enters the mountain valleys. Devprayag, Rudraprayag and Guptkashi form part of this transition before the journey reaches the Kedarnath region.
Across the itinerary, travellers experience several different sides of Uttarakhand, including sacred river confluences, mountain roads, trekking routes, temple towns, high-altitude landscapes and Himalayan villages.
The Himalayan Journey Starts From Rishikesh
After reaching Delhi, the group continues towards Haridwar, where the itinerary includes Har Ki Pauri and Ganga Aarti.
The journey then proceeds towards Rishikesh before entering the Garhwal mountain route. Devprayag provides an important stop along the way, followed by the journey towards Rudraprayag or Guptkashi. The itinerary also includes Dhari Devi and the Rudraprayag Sangam.
As the road continues towards Sitapur, the journey becomes increasingly mountainous. This is where the first major trekking section of the package begins.
Kedarnath Through the Trekking Route
From Sitapur, travellers continue towards Kedarnath through an approximately 22 km trek.
The route can be covered on foot, or travellers can opt for horse or doli services at their own cost, subject to local availability and conditions.
After reaching Kedarnath, the itinerary includes temple darshan along with Shankaracharya Samadhi. The evening Aarti can also be attended according to the day's schedule.
The overnight stay in the Kedarnath area follows the accommodation arrangements specified in the package.
A New Chapter Begins at Chopta
The following morning starts with an early Kedarnath Temple darshan before travellers begin the descent.
The trek takes the group towards Gaurikund, including time around the hot spring area, and then continues to Sitapur.
From Sitapur, the journey heads towards Chopta. The change from the Kedarnath route to Chopta gives travellers a completely different mountain setting, with the landscape becoming more open and suited to the next day's trek.
Chopta acts as the base for the Tungnath section and provides an overnight break before the climb.
A Trek Into the Mountains at Tungnath
The morning at Chopta begins with sunrise and breakfast.
Travellers then start the approximately 5 km trek towards Tungnath Temple. The route provides another opportunity to experience the Himalayan landscape on foot after the longer Kedarnath trek.
For travellers interested in extending the day, Chandrashila can be attempted when weather and local conditions permit. This is an optional section and should be approached according to the conditions at the time.
After completing the trek, the group continues towards Pipalkoti or Joshimath for the overnight stay.
Badrinath and the Upper Valley
The next day takes the group towards Badrinath, the second Dham included in the itinerary.
The schedule includes Tapt Kund and Badrinath Temple darshan before continuing towards Mana Village. The planned sightseeing includes Vyas Gufa, Ganesh Gufa, Bhim Pul and the Saraswati River region.
The Mana Village visit gives travellers another perspective of the Himalayan region, with mountain landscapes and local sites becoming part of the final sightseeing section.

Preparing for the Mumbai to Do Dham Route
Travellers starting from Mumbai should be prepared for a considerable change in climate and terrain once the journey enters Uttarakhand.
Comfortable trekking shoes are important for the Kedarnath and Tungnath routes. Warm clothing should be carried for the higher-altitude areas, while a rain jacket or other rain protection can be useful during the mountain journey.
May and June are part of the main travel season, while September and October are another period to consider after the monsoon. July and August can bring heavier rainfall, which may affect mountain roads and trekking plans.
Before leaving Mumbai, check the latest temple opening schedules, weather forecast, road conditions and local travel instructions.
