Jabalpur to Kedarnath, Badrinath, Tungnath and Chopta

The Do Dham Yatra with Tungnath Chopta Group Tour Package From Jabalpur takes travellers from Madhya Pradesh into the Garhwal Himalayas, covering the two major Dhams, Kedarnath and Badrinath, along with Chopta and Tungnath.

The journey begins with the connection from Jabalpur to Delhi and continues towards Uttarakhand. Haridwar and Rishikesh form the first part of the Himalayan route, followed by Devprayag, Rudraprayag and Guptkashi. From there, the itinerary moves into the higher mountain regions where trekking becomes an important part of the journey.

Instead of treating the entire trip as a single temple circuit, the itinerary moves through several distinct stages, from river confluences and mountain roads to the Kedarnath trek, the meadows of Chopta and the higher Tungnath trail.

Entering Uttarakhand Through Haridwar and Rishikesh

Once the group reaches Delhi, the onward journey continues towards Haridwar.

The itinerary includes Har Ki Pauri and Ganga Aarti before moving towards Rishikesh. From here, the route follows the mountain roads into Garhwal, passing through Devprayag and continuing towards Rudraprayag or Guptkashi.

The route also includes Dhari Devi and the Rudraprayag Sangam. These stops provide a chance to see the river valleys and important locations along the route before the journey reaches the Kedarnath side of Uttarakhand.

The Trek Begins at Sitapur

The road journey eventually reaches Sitapur, from where the group prepares for the Kedarnath section.

The itinerary includes an approximately 22 km trek towards Kedarnath. Travellers can choose to walk or use horse or doli services at their own cost, depending on availability and local conditions.

After reaching the temple town, the schedule includes Kedarnath Temple darshan along with Shankaracharya Samadhi and the evening Aarti.

Accommodation during this section is arranged as specified in the selected package, allowing travellers to rest before beginning the return trek the next morning.

From the Kedarnath Trail to Gaurikund

The following morning starts early with Kedarnath Temple darshan.

After completing the visit, travellers begin the descent towards the lower route. The journey passes through Gaurikund, where the itinerary includes time around the hot spring area, before continuing towards Sitapur.

The route then leaves the Kedarnath region and heads towards Chopta. This change creates a noticeable difference in the experience, as the demanding trekking section gives way to a more relaxed stay in the Himalayan landscape around Chopta.

Chopta Becomes the Base for Tungnath

The next stage of the journey is centred around Chopta and Tungnath.

After sunrise and breakfast, travellers begin the approximately 5 km trek to Tungnath Temple. The route provides a chance to experience the mountains on foot again, but in a different setting from the Kedarnath trek.

Chandrashila can be attempted as an optional extension if the weather and local conditions are suitable. Travellers should assess the conditions on the day before continuing towards the higher section.

After completing the trek, the group travels towards Pipalkoti or Joshimath for the overnight stay.

Badrinath and the Mana Village Route

The next morning continues towards Badrinath.

The itinerary includes Tapt Kund and Badrinath Temple darshan, followed by sightseeing around Mana Village. The planned stops include Vyas Gufa, Ganesh Gufa, Bhim Pul and the Saraswati River region.

This part of the journey combines the main Badrinath temple experience with the surrounding Himalayan landscape. The Mana Village excursion also provides time to explore some of the well-known locations in the upper valley before starting the return journey.

If time permits, travellers can also visit Triveni Ghat for the evening Aarti. The journey then continues towards Delhi, where the group connects with the onward journey to Jabalpur.

Travel Preparation for the Jabalpur Route

The combination of long-distance travel, mountain roads and trekking requires some advance preparation.

Pack comfortable walking shoes with good grip for the Kedarnath and Tungnath routes. Warm layers are recommended for the higher-altitude areas, while rain protection can be useful because Himalayan weather can change quickly.

Travel dates should also be selected after considering the temple schedules and mountain conditions. May and June fall within the main travel season, while September and October can be considered after the monsoon.

During July and August, rainfall may affect road journeys and trekking plans. Before leaving Jabalpur, check the latest temple schedules, weather conditions, road status and local travel instructions.
