A Himalayan Journey Starting Right From Delhi

The Do Dham Yatra with Tungnath Chopta Personal Tour Package From Delhi brings together Kedarnath and Badrinath with the mountain destinations of Chopta and Tungnath. Since the journey begins directly from Delhi, the first day takes you straight towards Haridwar and the Himalayan route instead of adding a separate long-distance travel connection.

The itinerary is planned across 8 days, moving through Haridwar, Rishikesh, Devprayag, Rudraprayag and Guptkashi before reaching the Kedarnath trekking route. After Kedarnath, the journey continues towards Chopta and Tungnath before heading to Badrinath and Mana Village.

This Delhi to Do Dham Tungnath Chopta Yatra Package works as a combination of temple visits, mountain travel and trekking, with the route changing considerably from one stage to the next.

Day One Takes You Towards the Ganga

The journey begins from Delhi and heads towards Haridwar.

After reaching the city, the itinerary includes a visit to Har Ki Pauri followed by the opportunity to attend Ganga Aarti. The evening provides a relatively relaxed beginning before the journey moves deeper into Uttarakhand.

The following day, the route continues towards Rishikesh and then into the Garhwal region. Devprayag and Rudraprayag become important points along the drive as the landscape changes from the plains to mountain valleys.

Following the River Valleys Towards Kedarnath

The road journey through Uttarakhand is an important part of this package. From Rishikesh, the route passes through Devprayag and towards Rudraprayag or Guptkashi.

The itinerary includes the Rudraprayag Sangam and other route stops before continuing towards Sonprayag or Sitapur. Once you reach the designated starting point, the road journey ends and the Kedarnath trek begins.

The itinerary covers an approximately 17 km trekking route towards Kedarnath. Travellers can walk or choose a horse or doli at their own cost, subject to local availability and conditions.

After reaching Kedarnath, there is time for darshan along with a visit to Shankaracharya Samadhi and the evening Aarti. The overnight stay is arranged in the Kedarnath area through dormitory, camp or homestay accommodation according to the package plan.

Kedarnath Comes First, Then Chopta

The next morning begins with an early Kedarnath Temple darshan at around 4 AM.

After the visit, travellers descend through the same trekking route towards Gaurikund. The itinerary includes time around the Gaurikund hot spring before continuing to Sonprayag or Sitapur.

The journey then takes a completely different direction towards Chopta.

This transition is one of the distinctive parts of the itinerary. After spending time on the Kedarnath trekking route, the group moves into the open mountain landscapes around Chopta, where the following day's Tungnath trek begins.

From Chopta to Tungnath and Chandrashila

The Chopta morning starts with sunrise and breakfast before the group begins the approximately 5 km trek to Tungnath Temple.

The trail provides a change from the Kedarnath route, with the surroundings becoming more focused on open mountain landscapes and high-altitude trekking.

Travellers who want to continue beyond Tungnath can attempt the Chandrashila section when weather and local conditions permit. This extension is optional, and conditions at higher elevations should be considered before proceeding.

After the trek, the route continues towards Pipalkoti or Joshimath for the overnight stay.

Badrinath and the Upper Himalayan Landscape

The next day is dedicated to the Badrinath section of the journey.

After reaching Badrinath, the itinerary includes Tapt Kund and Badrinath Temple darshan. The group then travels towards Mana Village, with planned sightseeing at Vyas Gufa, Ganesh Gufa, Charan Paduka, Bhim Pul and the Saraswati River area.

The Mana Village excursion gives the itinerary a broader sightseeing component. Instead of returning immediately after temple darshan, travellers get to explore several well-known locations around the upper Himalayan region.

The Route Back Through Rishikesh

After completing the Badrinath and Mana Village section, the journey begins its return towards Rishikesh.

The route passes back through the Garhwal region before reaching Rishikesh, where the itinerary includes places such as Lakshman Jhula, Ram Jhula, Raghunath Temple and Geeta Bhavan.

If the timing allows, the group can also visit Triveni Ghat for the evening Aarti before the final journey towards Delhi.

The package concludes with the return to Delhi, bringing the 8-day journey through Kedarnath, Chopta, Tungnath and Badrinath to an end.

Four Places That Define the Main Journey

The itinerary revolves around four key destinations, each offering a different experience.

  • Kedarnath: The first major Himalayan destination involves a substantial trek, temple darshan, Shankaracharya Samadhi and the evening Aarti.
  • Chopta: The route moves into a quieter mountain environment after the Kedarnath section, providing the base for the Tungnath trek.
  • Tungnath: The approximately 5 km trek leads to Tungnath Temple, with the option to continue towards Chandrashila when conditions permit.
  • Badrinath: The second Dham completes the principal temple portion of the trip and is followed by the Mana Village sightseeing circuit.

What to Prepare Before Leaving Delhi

Although the journey begins from Delhi, much of the itinerary takes place in areas where road and weather conditions can change quickly.

Comfortable trekking footwear is important for both the Kedarnath and Tungnath sections. Warm layers should be carried for the higher-altitude areas, while a smaller daypack can be useful during the trekking portions.

The travel season should also be planned around temple opening schedules and Himalayan weather. May and June are generally part of the main travel period. September and October can also be considered after the monsoon. During July and August, rainfall can affect mountain roads and travel plans.

Before departure, check the latest temple schedules, weather forecast, road conditions and local advisories.

Delhi to Do Dham With a Mountain Trekking Experience

The Do Dham Yatra with Tungnath Chopta Personal Tour Package From Delhi follows a compact 8-day route that moves from the Ganga plains into the higher Garhwal Himalayas.

Starting from Delhi allows the journey to reach Haridwar and Rishikesh immediately, followed by the mountain roads towards Kedarnath. After the Kedarnath trek and darshan, the route changes direction towards Chopta and Tungnath before continuing to Badrinath and Mana Village.
